Ethnoveterinary Projects

In November 1997, participants of the International Conference on Ethnoveterinary Medicine: Alternatives for Livestock Development compiled a list of all the projects they were aware of. The conference was held in Pune, India. Some 200 'ethnoveterinarians' attended from India and 20 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. During the conference a big world map, pins and small cards were placed in the main hall. Participants were invited to write their project information on the cards and pin these on the map where the project was located. This way information on 46 projects was pooled. |
