Conference 'Primary Animal Health Care in the 21st Century: Shaping the Rules, Policies and Institutions'
Mombasa, Kenya, 15-18th October 2002

Conference objectives:

bulletreview progress with the formulation of supporting policies
and legislation for primary-level animal health workers
bulletidentify key lessons learned and make recommendations
regarding future policy and legislative needs.

The conference will take the form of keynote presentations,
submitted papers and posters and facilitated group discussions
to arrive at recommendations regarding future policy and legis-lative
needs.

Papers and Posters
Papers and posters are invited on the five themes outlined
below. Papers selected by the technical committee will be
limited to 15 minutes for presentation with a further 5 minutes
for discussion. A 200 word abstract should be submitted by
end of March 2002 and an electronic and hard copy of the full
paper should be available at the conference. Full proceedings
will be published shortly after the conference.

3. Policies and Animal Health Research
4. Policy on training and learning issues

Conference 'Responding to the Increasing Global Demand for Animal  Products' 

The conference Responding to the Increasing Global Demand for Animal Products will be held at the University of Yucatan, Merida, Mexico, 12-15  November 2002. 

The conference is a joint effort by the British Society of Animal Science, the American Society of Animal Science, the  Mexican Society of Animal Production and of course the host institution - The University of Yucatan. Up-to-date information including costs can be found at www.bsas.org.uk.

International Seminar on Parasitology and the 9th Congress of the
Indonesian Parasitic Disease Control Association, 11-12 September 2002.

Organised by the Indonesian Parasitic Disease Control Association (P4I) in Collaboration with Centre Research Institute for Animal Sciences (CRIAS) and Bogor Agricultural University (IPB).

Objectives of the Seminar

bulletIdentify parasitic diseases in South-East Asia that are likely to
emerge as a result of global trading.
bulletExchange knowledge and experience in various aspects of parasitology
bulletEnhancement of research capabilities through networking as well as other collaborative activities 

Scientific Program

The seminar will include lectures, oral and poster presentations of interest to Veterinary, Medical and Marine Parasitology with the main theme "Globalisation and transboundary parasitic infection in
South-East Asia".

Workshop format

Following the successful meetings in Armidale (1995) and Louisiana (1998) the meeting will follow a workshop format including presentations by the session co-ordinators, discussion period followed by a small number of relevant short (15 min) communications. Contributors can also present a maximum of 3 acetates during the workshop discussion. A poster session will be linked to each of the themed workshops.

Registration: before 30/04/2002 Researcher £110 and Student £55. After this date Researcher £140 and Student £70. Registration costs include conference pack, coffees, lunches, transport and conference dinner

The workshop is organised in connection with the conference ‘International Colloquium on the Medicinal Plants / Health / Environmental and Development’.

Conference 'UK Organic Research 2002: Research in Context'
26-28th March 2002, Aberystwyth, UK

This first UK national conference of the Colloquium of Organic Researchers (COR) aims to:
