locates scientific information on the Internet, indexes complete
documents, searches the whole Web including access-controlled sites, and
reads non-text files like PDF. In August 2001, Scirus covered more than 60
million science related pages from the Web as well as membership sources
such as ScienceDirect, MEDLINE on BioMedNet, Beilstein on ChemWeb and

Europe's largest library on international development, the British Library
for Development Studies (BLDS) at the Institute of Development Studies has
launched an innovative e-mail service for those wanting to be kept
up-to-date with the latest development publications. Users can now
subscribe to receive regular e-mail updates of new publications by theme,
including education. Documents can be accessed through BLDS document
delivery and interlibrary loan services.
